Unforgettable family holidays in Sri Lanka
Wonders of Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka

DAY 1 : NEGAMBO
Welcome to Sri Lanka! Your adventure begins in the charming town of Negombo, conveniently located near the international airport. You can arrive at any time on Day 1, as there are no scheduled activities until the welcome meeting at 5:30 pm. If you arrive early, immerse yourself in the seaside atmosphere by watching local fishing boats and enjoying fresh seafood. The picturesque countryside around Negombo is perfect for exploring by bicycle, which you can rent with assistance from the hotel reception. Enjoy your adventure!

DAY 2 : DAMBULLA
After breakfast, depart from Negombo and embark on a 4.5-hour drive to Dambulla, arriving shortly after midday. Upon arrival, you can choose to unwind at the hotel or opt for an exciting jeep safari to explore a nearby wildlife reserve, where you might encounter elephants. Depending on the season, you can visit either Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, both conveniently located near Dambulla. Alternatively, you can explore the stunning Dambulla Caves, renowned for their beautifully adorned interiors. Enjoy your afternoon!
DAY 3 : SIGIRIYA
Start your day early with a visit to Sigiriya, a stunning ruined fortress just a 30-minute drive away. Climbing to the top offers breathtaking views, so wear sturdy footwear for the steep ascent. If you prefer not to climb, enjoy the gardens at the base and capture photos of the fortress. After breakfast at the hotel, head to Kandy, a 3-hour drive away. Consider stopping at a spice garden for lunch. In Kandy, visit the Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth), Sri Lanka's most significant Buddhiite, and mingle with the pilgrims. Enjoy your day!

DAY 4 : KANDY
Explore Kandy's lake, shops, market, and restaurants. Once the capital under the last Sri Lankan king, Kandy resisted European control for centuries. Stroll through town, visit the citadel, or take a nature walk at Udawattakele Sanctuary to see flowers, birds, and monkeys. For lunch, visit Hela Bojun Restaurant, a social enterprise providing employment and training to local women. Enjoy Sri Lankan dishes while learning about their work. The rest of the day is free for your own discoveries.
DAY 5 : UNAWATUNA
Travel south to Unawatuna in a private vehicle (about 6 hours). This beautiful beach area offers many local restaurants and bars for relaxation. With no scheduled activities today, you have free time to explore. Consider walking through the mangrove forest off Galle–Matara road, where you might spot monkeys, or enjoy a relaxing massage. You could also visit Galle, known for its historic fort and colonial-era buildings. The fort offers stunning ocean views and insights into the area's history.
DAY 6 : GLLE
Today, visit nearby Galle for some sightseeing. The city boasts a charming collection of Dutch-colonial buildings, boutique shops, and cafes. Stroll around the perimeter of the Galle fort and cool off with an icy ginger drink at a cafe. Later, return to Unawatuna beach to relax or enjoy a cocktail under the shade of a beachside restaurant. Enjoy your day! You can also explore the local markets and discover unique souvenirs to take home. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly locals make Galle a delightful place to visit.

DAY 7 : COLOMBO
Leave Unawatuna and travel to Colombo (about 4 hours). Upon arrival in Sri Lanka's capital, join your leader for a city walk, visiting local shops and sightseeing. If it's Saturday, check out Good Market, featuring stalls from social enterprises and responsible businesses. Tonight is free, but your leader may suggest an optional group dinner for your final night together. Enjoy your time in Colombo!
